 NTMP includes the proposal for a national territorial corridor between the West Bank (Tarquimiya) and the Gaza Strip (Bayt Hanoun) and involves the following transport sub-sectors, that are tackled in their infrastructural, operational, legal and financial aspects:

  • Rail Transport, including international and domestic lines
  • Road Transport, including on-going/ financed projects and new proposals
  • Public Transport, including light rail, tramways, BRT and maritime public transport to serve both the urban and the rural areas
  • Air Transport, including the rehabilitation of existing infrastructure in the Gaza Strip; the proposal for new infrastructure in the West Bank and the definition of international liaisons with regional aviation authorities
  • Maritime Transport, including the proposals for a new commercial seaport and the rehabilitation and refurbishment of the existing fishery port in Gaza Strip
  • Border Crossing/ Logistics & Freight, including the refurbishment of existing facilities, the proposal of new ones, the definition of main freight routes and the creation of integrated network at national scale, including the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Rail and Road Transport are the major components multi-modal transport network proposed by NTMP. This is also reflected in the expenditure plan by transport mode.
